Day Trading System

In order to have even a remote chance of success in day trading, a trader must develop a day trading system that he can trust. When developing such day trading system, a day trader must answer the following trust questions. Do I trust myself to write out a good trading plan? Do I trust myself to execute my trading plan? Do I trust myself to enter trades? Do I trust myself to exit trades when I am supposed to?  Do I trust my day trading broker to be there if I needed help to get out of a trade? Do I trust that my quote feed is not lagging? Do I trust my entire trading set-up (computer, ISP, etc.) to perform well? Do I trust my day trading system, its rules and guidelines?

Can I follow my day trading system and consistently make money? Do I understand that losing is a part of the business? Do I trust myself to take a loss, yet remain objective when the next high percentage trade presents itself to me?

Day trading is a liberal profession and it provides the day trader with the freedom of choice. A day trader chooses his broker, the software he trades with, his Internet service provider, the set of rules and guidelines that make his day trading system, the stocks he enters, etc. Under no circumstances, a day trader can say, I got into this stock because of a tip I received, and I lost because of the idiot who gave me the tip. This day trader must accept responsibility for all his trading decisions. If a trader loses, it is no one else’s fault but his own.
